Rifle PD got an unexpected delivery on National Donut Day—a robotic dog named Lucky lowered in by drone, harness stacked with donuts. The demo, pulled off by Colorado’s Center of Excellence, was more than a stunt. It was designed to spotlight the growing role drones and robotics are starting to play in public safety—from search and rescue to documenting scenes. Rifle PD’s drone unit launched just six months ago and is already scaling up.
